Final Major Project - Here Goes!

I have now started my Final Major Project and i am a month in. My project is well underway as i have completed my underpinning research and is all handed in. My practical work is all coming together as well! Just need to sort out all my ideas and start working on the final piece.

I have researched 7 artists for this project:
  • Tim Marrs
  • Brian Dettmer
  • Jen Stark
  • Ingrid Siliakus
  • Jim Woodring
  • Peter Callesen
  • Su Blackwell
My project is to create a pop-up sort of book on the theme of  'After A Days Walk'  I have been on my walk and taken photographs and made sketches a few are shown below.

My next plan of action is to start practising the pop-ups and deside which pages are going to contain what.

Personal Field Trip

My project - 'Personal Field Trip' has now come to an end. I decided on my location, Manchester and focused on the contrast between the day and the night. I produced:
- 6 photographs (3 day, 3 night),
- 2 photographs based on the concept of this website but obviously using my theme, so i held up a photo of the night in the day and took a photo (very awkward with a big DSLR and no-one to hold the photo for you!
- 2 lino prints, both of the Manchester Wheel, one red and one black,
- A magazine cover using Photoshop, layering photographs and adding text. I used one of the 'dearphotograph' photos for the back cover.

Photography - Night/Day

Themed photographs incorperating both day and night:

Some of these photos were incorperated into my magazine cover, and I also did two A3 lino prints of the Manchester Wheel.
