Final Major Project

Yesterday I handed in my final major project. My last proper day of college. What! Anyway I managed to complete it in time. 2 A3 folders for my sketchbook, an A4 technical notebook, an A5 research journal, whew. Oh and of course my pop-up book, my chair I sanded down and the backdrop.

Here is my book. This is before I finished the cover. I bound the book myself, using two pieces of card, 5mm wider than each side of the pages.

I covered the boards with red fabric (the same as the colour of the door) and stuck it to the end papers and book cloth (that was for the spine).

Each page consists of a different element of Buxton. I used different materials for each page and included pop-ups on some pages.

Page 1: Broadwalk. Pen.
Page 2: Daffodils. Biro and watercolour.
Page 3: Bandstand. Watercolour, acetate and sharpie.
Page 4: Bridge in Pavillion Gardens. Sharpie and watercolour.
Page 5: Flowers. Marbling and cut out paper using a scalpel.
Page 6: The Square. Drypoint print, sharpie.
Page 7: Silhouetted trees. Drypoint print, black card.
Page 8: Books. Newspaper, biro, watercolour.
Page 10: Little green chair. Sharpie, watercolour.

I decided not to complete page 9 (i can count really) :)

Here is my exhibition, it can be viewed at Macclesfield College on the 21st and 22nd June, 2012.
